The presence of blackheads results in the obstruction of these expansive pores by a substance called sebum. A chemical reaction with the sebum takes place beneath the skin. The clogged pores are rendered black as a result of the oxidation of melanin. This type of acne is frequently observed on the face, shoulders, and back.
